Why do I need this?
If you have a child between 6 months and 5 years old, you may not need this, but it can go a long way towards making life simpler for you and your child. It provides a consistent, all-in-one solution for your shade needs at the beach, napping needs at the park, or even when the motel (or grandma, for that matter) doesn’t have an extra pack-and-play. Plus, it doubles as a quiet nap area in your home, giving your child their own cozy space to rest.
What features or benefits does this product offer that other portable solutions don’t?
My own space operates with a quick and easy open AND closing system (if you've ever tried putting away a popup tent in a pinch you can appreciate why that would be helpful). The shading capability is a large upgrade over other comparable products on the market with material that blunts 100% of direct sun rays. Yes, this product is designed to provide a safe and comfortable sleeping space for toddlers over 6 months of age.
How do I know the included mattress pad is safe?
The Moonlight Slumber™ pad is hand-sewn in the USA and meets all safety standards. Additionally, the frame is fully breathable—even with the peep flap zipped shut.
How do I know the frame will keep its shape?
The frame is built with high-end hardware, ensuring exceptional structural integrity.
What if my child is energetic and tends to pull, tug, or break things?
MyOwn-Space™ is designed to prevent access to the tent’s structure from the inside, ensuring it can’t be easily tampered with. Additionally, the sheet and mattress are snugly fitted to stay securely in place, even if one side is disturbed.
How dark does it get inside?
Direct rays are completely blunted (even in sunlight) and the blackout material blocks 95% of light. Realistically – when outdoors in direct light, the material offers heavy shade; outdoor but while already in the
shade, it’s cozy enough to nap in (had a somewhat small framed 8 year old confirm this); and indoors it gets dark. (Above referenced somewhat small framed 8 year old was able to snap a picture of a stuffed animal and the camera used night mode and output a purple image – and that was outdoors in the shade).
Is the cover breathable?
The cover is made of mesh fabric that allows for full airflow. While it’s not a living organism and doesn’t ‘breathe’ in the literal sense, I understand your concern. Yes, there is excellent air circulation even when the shade is fully drawn.
How much does it weigh?
It weighs just 4 pounds, making it lightweight and easy to carry.
How big is it when folded up?
When folded up, the product measures approximately 46.8 inches in length, 24 inches in width, and 22.5 inches in height.
Will airlines allow this as carry-on luggage?
No, airlines typically won’t allow this as carry-on luggage. If you attempt to bring it onboard, they will likely ask you to check it.
What is the return process like?
The return process is straightforward. Simply email us at hello@myveryownspace.com within 90 days of purchase to initiate a return. We will send you a prepaid shipping label to return the tent. Once we receive it, we will issue a refund. It’s that simple.
Is support based in the US? How soon can I expect a response to my support email?

Who should I contact to initiate a warranty claim? What about the Moonlight Slumber™ pad—who do I contact for its warranty?
MyOwn-Space™ is a Kalencom brand, and all warranty claims are handled by Kalencom. Warranty claims for the Moonlight Slumber™ pad will also be managed by Kalencom.
The zipper seems tight—are you sure this will hold up?
Yes! The zipper is designed by YKK and is built to compress the mattress when closed.
What are those holes for on the corner of the tent?
Those holes were designed with the glamper (or non-glamper!) in mind. They are meant to hold the included pegs, allowing you to secure the tent in rough or windy (think beach) conditions.
How do I care for my tent and pad? How do I clean them?
MyOwn-Space™ is built with premium materials and textiles designed to withstand the rugged outdoors, while also making cleaning easy. The outer material is waterproof and can be hand washed or spot cleaned as needed.
The included Moonlight Slumber™ mattress is designed for effortless removal, providing complete access to the interior compartment for shaking out debris or wiping away dirt. The mattress pad itself is hospital-grade, waterproof, and easy to clean. It can be rinsed off or spot cleaned by hand.
